EMA Indicator Explained — Exponential Moving Average Strategy

The Relative Strength Index (RSI) is a momentum oscillator that measures how fast and how much a crypto price has moved. It is one of the most popular indicators for spotting overbought and oversold conditions.

What EMA measures

The Exponential Moving Average smooths price but weights recent candles more heavily than the Simple Moving Average, so it reacts faster to new moves.

The 20 / 50 / 200 strategy

In a healthy uptrend the EMAs stack 20 above 50 above 200. A crossover of the 50 over the 200 EMA — the golden cross — is a widely watched bullish signal; the inverse death cross is bearish.

EMA as dynamic support

In trends, price often bounces off the 20 or 50 EMA. Buying the touch of a rising EMA with a stop below it is a classic trend-following tactic.

EMA vs SMA

EMA hugs price more closely and gives earlier signals; SMA is smoother and calmer. Many traders watch both — a zone where they agree becomes a stronger level.
